It’s Veganuary! The Coconut Collab - It’s Yogurt, But Not Yogurt

🎉Happy Veganuary, everyone!🎉
Okay, I know it’s become a bit of a running joke that I still haven’t posted my “About Me” blog post, but hey, if it keeps you on your toes, I’m fine with leaving it in my drafts for a while longer. I will post it someday, I promise—I just lost a bit of motivation for it. Let’s blame my ADHD, ok? 😅
Anyway, here’s a little more about me: I’m somewhat allergic to dairy—actually to be specific, it’s all cow-derived products. The weird part is that these allergies didn’t pop up until a little over five years ago. Before that, I basically lived on cheese and yogurt. So, yeah, saying I’ve struggled with this new dairy-free lifestyle is an understatement. I still find myself sneaking bites of my childhood fave, Petits Filous yogurt, only to suffer the consequences when my sinuses go into full rebellion. And yes, go ahead and laugh because I eat children's yogurt, but honestly? It tastes amazing, and I make zero apologies for it.
But here’s the exciting part: A few weeks ago, my aunt introduced me to The Coconut Collab's original coconut yogurt, and I was seriously impressed. It literally tastes like regular dairy yogurt. If you pay close attention, you can taste a hint of coconut, but other than that, it looks and tastes like the real deal. I immediately thought, “Hey, if I add a bit of raspberry jam, I could have my very own raspberry yogurt.” But then, surprise! The Coconut Collab had already released a raspberry flavor. Let’s just say I didn’t walk—I ran to get some. 😆
Now, finding this elusive raspberry flavor was a bit of a quest. I had to do some serious digging to find a store that sold it, so in true “desperate but determined” fashion, I emailed The Coconut Collab for a list of local stores. A lovely lady named Charlotte got back to me with a list, and off I went, embarking on a full-on yogurt raid at Morrison's. 🛒
I grabbed four pots and—no shame in my game—I’m not sharing. I’m just not over the excitement yet. You have no idea how much I’ve missed raspberry yogurt. It's official: I’m back to having yogurt for breakfast, and I’m not looking back. - And guess what? They also have other flavours including strawberry and vanilla. I can't wait to grab my hands on these!

As an animal activist, I also want to take a moment to urge you to consider making the plant-based switch. The cruelty in the dairy industry is heartbreaking and I'm ashamed to say I've been ignorant to it far too long. I’ll share more about this in a separate post soon, but just know that calves are torn away from their mothers right after birth, and it’s utterly devastating. I cried a river watching a video of a mother cow chasing after a van that was taking her calf away. I’m not fully vegan yet, but I’m working on it—and I encourage you to try as well. No living creature deserves this kind of suffering, and together, we can make a difference. 💚
